Diane Carroll Vogel was born in Michigan, but has resided in Virginia with her husband, Tom, for most of her life. A retired high school English teacher and freelance writer, she has won awards from the Virginia Press Women and National Federation of Press Women. Her articles have appeared in such publications as Pauses, the Virginia Association of Teachers of English Language Arts' Virginia English Bulletin, and The Free Lance-Star's Saturday magazine, Town & County. In addition to writing pursuits, Diane enjoys traveling with Tom, being involved in church, professional and social activities, and – most especially – spending time with her children and grandchildren.
